CREATIVE
It all started with a challenge. As I embarked on this journey, to capture life's moments through pictures, I discovered a passion for visual storytelling. All I had was my phone's camera and I made the most of it - trying to showcase daily life in Haiti.
Little did I know that this would bring me where I am today, exploring different techniques, telling stories, and capturing life happening around me through my camera. Day after day, I strived to capture the moments or elements of life we often overlook or take for granted. I paused, observed, and clicked away.
My name is Alain David Lescouflair, and I'm a Haitian photographer based in NYC / NJ. My aim is to help fellow creatives find their voice and remind everyone that there’s beauty all around us.

Black Joy - A visual essay about black beauty and black joy. This is a collection taken at the 2021 NYC AfroTech Happy Hour hosted by Blavity. It was a wonderful experience seeing the black community coming together and connecting.
